Overwhelmed

Updated: Sep 6, 2019

Have you ever been to the point in your life when you felt like how can I get everything accomplished?

You feel like you have more things to complete in a day than time allows.  I am learning you have to have excellent time management skills. The past couple of months, I haven’t been doing well with time management. I am learning that time management is a skill and that my time is valuable. Also, what I choose to do with my time is valuable. I use to be so careless about my time.

Have you ever heard of the saying “where you spend the most of your time is what you are invested in?”

I am learning to prioritize what is important to me. What to prioritize is definitely easier said than actually doing it. I am trusting God and appreciating the process. I need to trust and rely on God even more. I should not be stressed and overwhelmed, but enjoy the process of starting my business. This season I am in a different pace, and it has definitely changed. The pace is faster, and I need to make some adjustments. One thing about me is that I am a thinker!!! I am also thinking of the next thing. Since I was little I have always been like that. I am always thinking. I do more thinking than talking. LOL! Now having a business, I see how beneficial thinking (rationally) is for me. Unfortunately, I am having issues of turning off my brain to rest. When I am not working on my business or working on other things like homework my mind drifts. I find myself researching or making notes towards my business. I am learning to center myself and to rely on God more and more each day. It is a challenge for me to give up control. I must give up my plans. I must give up how I imagine my life will be and turn to God. I ask God questions “God, how do you want me to do this? God, how do you want this to go?” This is helping me to not rely on my own abilities because my abilities can fail me. People can fail me but by putting my trust in God, falling on my knees, making sure I am having quiet moments with God, and letting Him take control everything will be alright.  I can’t do this alone. Each and every day I need more of God than ever before.

Are you feeling stressed? Here are some steps that will help with that. Also, these steps have helped me!

•    Prioritize what is important to you

•    Block out the noise by centering yourself (quiet time, reading, or isolate from others)

•    Write down what you need help with (make a list)

•    Making an appointment with God (even if it is just 30 minutes a day praying and meditating on the Bible can have an impact on your day. Schedule a time and follow through with that the time/day you scheduled.)
